Globe SIM Registration Requirements and Valid IDs
Last checked: October 27, 2026, against Globe’s official SIM registration pages. Independent guide, not affiliated with Globe Telecom.
Quick answer: To register a Globe or TM SIM you need your full name, birthday, gender, address and nationality, a selfie, and one valid, unexpired government photo ID. Globe recommends PVC-type IDs. Children are registered under a parent or guardian, and companies register through an authorized representative.
This guide supports our main Globe SIM registration guide. Having everything ready before you start avoids most failed registrations.
Personal details you will enter
- Full name, exactly as printed on your ID
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Address
- Nationality
You also confirm Globe’s Privacy Notice and an Attestation of Completeness and Accuracy, which means you declare that the information is true.
Accepted government IDs
Globe publishes two lists. Its registration page lists eight IDs. Its SIM Registration Act help page lists ten, adding the PhilHealth ID and Voter’s ID. The table shows both so you can pick an ID that appears on the list you trust.
| ID | Registration page | Help page |
|---|---|---|
| Passport | Yes | Yes |
| Driver’s License | Yes | Yes |
| National ID (PhilSys) | Yes: PVC, paper and digital | Yes: PhilID and ePhilID |
| BIR ID or TIN ID | Yes | Yes |
| UMID Card | Yes | Yes |
| PhilPost Postal ID | Yes | Yes |
| SSS ID | Yes | Yes, SSS ID or MySSS ID |
| PRC ID | Yes | Yes |
| PhilHealth ID | Not listed | Yes |
| Voter’s ID | Not listed | Yes |
The safest choice is an ID that appears on both lists, such as a passport, driver’s license, National ID or UMID.
ID rules that prevent rejection
- Choose a PVC card when you can. Globe recommends PVC-type IDs to avoid delays.
- Avoid paper IDs and IDs with a printed photo. Globe says they may not be accepted.
- Use the older PRC, Postal or SSS ID. Globe says the newest versions of these three are not yet accepted.
- The ID must not be expired.
- Keep the file under 4 MB. Globe sets this limit in its Globe At Home instructions.
Selfie and photo tips
Photograph the ID flat on a dark surface in daylight, from directly above, with all four corners and every line of text visible. For the selfie, face a light source, remove sunglasses, caps and masks, and turn off filters. If an upload fails, our Globe SIM registration problems guide explains each error.
Registering a SIM for a child
Globe requires SIMs for children who do not have a government ID to be registered under the name of a parent or legal guardian. The adult enters their own details and uploads their own ID.
Registering a company SIM
Companies and government entities register through an authorized representative. Globe asks for:
- The authorized representative’s name, details and valid government photo ID
- The entity’s name and address
- Supporting documents such as a Certificate of Registration or a Board Resolution
Company-issued prepaid SIMs can be registered under the employee who uses the SIM or under the company’s authorized representative. Billing and top-up requests still go through the authorized representative.
Foreign nationals
Foreigners must register too. They use a passport and add proof of a Philippine address. Tourists also need a return or onward ticket. Globe says registered tourist SIMs are valid for 30 days.
What happens if you give false information
The SIM Registration Act punishes false information and fake IDs. Globe’s help page lists imprisonment of 6 months to 2 years and/or a fine of up to ₱300,000. Read more in our SIM Registration Act guide.
