Globe SIM Registration for Foreigners and Tourists
Last checked: October 27, 2026, against Globe’s official SIM registration pages. Independent guide, not affiliated with Globe Telecom.
Quick answer: Foreigners must register Philippine SIMs too. Tourists need a passport (bio page and current visa stamp), proof of a Philippine address such as a hotel booking, and a return or onward ticket. Globe says a registered tourist SIM is valid for 30 days and then deactivates automatically. Foreigners on other visas add a document such as an ACR I-Card or Alien Employment Permit.
The registration itself happens on the same portal as for Filipino users. This page covers what is different for foreign nationals. For the general walkthrough, see our Globe SIM registration guide.
Tourists
Globe lists these documents for tourists:
- Passport, including the bio page and current visa stamp
- Proof of a Philippine address: a hotel booking, or an affidavit from the owner of the place where you stay
- A return ticket to your home country, or a ticket to your next destination
Tourist SIMs last 30 days. Globe states that a registered tourist SIM is valid for 30 days and deactivates automatically after that. If you are staying longer, ask Globe which registration applies to you before you buy.
Foreigners with other visas
Residents, workers, students and other visa holders need a passport, proof of address, and one of these:
| Situation | Extra document Globe lists |
|---|---|
| Foreign residents | ACR I-Card |
| Foreign workers | Alien Employment Permit |
| Students | School registration or school ID |
| Persons of concern | Applicable Department of Justice travel or admission document |
How to register as a foreign national
- Insert the Globe or TM SIM in your phone and check that it has signal.
- Open new.globe.com.ph/simreg, which opens Globe’s registration site at simreg.globe.com.ph.
- Tap Register SIM, enter the 10-digit Philippine number, then enter the 6-digit OTP sent to the SIM within five minutes.
- Choose the registration type for foreign nationals.
- Upload your passport and supporting documents, and take a selfie.
- Fill in the form exactly as your passport shows, then review and submit.
- Save the reference number shown on screen.
Prepare clear photos of each document before you start, because the OTP step and the upload step happen in the same session.
Tips for a smooth registration
- Photograph the passport bio page flat, in daylight, with no glare on the photo page.
- Make sure the hotel booking shows your name and the Philippine address.
- Type your name in the same order as the passport’s machine-readable line, including middle names.
- Keep a screenshot of the reference number until you leave the Philippines.

Protect yourself from registration scams
Travelers are a common target for fake “SIM registration” help. Register only on Globe’s own site or in the GlobeOne app, and never give your OTP to anyone, including people offering to register the SIM for you. Do not send photos of your passport through chat apps. Registration is free; anyone asking for a fee is not Globe.
Before you land: a short checklist
- A clear photo of your passport bio page and visa stamp
- Your hotel booking or address affidavit as a PDF or screenshot
- Your return or onward ticket
- A phone that is unlocked for Philippine networks
Filipinos abroad
Globe Prepaid users who are traveling abroad still need to register their SIMs to avoid deactivation. The OTP is a text message, so the SIM must be able to receive texts where you are.
Frequently asked questions

Globe’s foreigner requirements are built around the passport. Use your passport.
What happens after 30 days?
Globe says registered tourist SIMs deactivate automatically after 30 days.
Is registration free for foreigners?
Yes. Globe’s online registration is free and zero-rated.
Can I use an eSIM?
eSIMs must be registered too. See our Globe eSIM guide.
I am using my home SIM on roaming. Do I register it here?
