Globe SIM Registration Problems and How to Fix Them

Globe SIM Registration Problems and How to Fix Them

Last checked: October 27, 2026, against Globe’s official SIM registration pages. Independent guide, not affiliated with Globe Telecom.

Quick answer: Most Globe SIM registration problems come from four things: no signal for the OTP, an ID photo that cannot be read, details that do not match the ID exactly, or a fake registration link. Check those first. If the portal says your number is already registered, or your SIM still does not work after registering, Globe asks you to contact it through Facebook Messenger or a Globe Store.

This guide covers Globe Prepaid, TM, Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi and Globe Mobile WiFi. For the full registration walkthrough, see our Globe SIM registration guide.

Three checks before you try again

  • The SIM is inside the device and has signal, because the OTP is sent to that SIM.
  • The address bar shows Globe’s site. Our link, new.globe.com.ph/simreg, opens simreg.globe.com.ph.
  • Your name, birthday and other details match your ID letter for letter.

Problem 1: The OTP does not arrive

Globe’s help page gives a simple first fix: check that the SIM has signal, then click Resend OTP. If it still does not arrive, try these:

  1. Move to a spot with better signal, or turn airplane mode on and off.
  2. Delete old messages if your inbox is full. Some phones stop accepting new texts when storage runs out.
  3. Check that you typed 10 digits without the leading 0 (for example 9171234567).
  4. Wait a minute before tapping Resend OTP again.
  5. For a pocket WiFi or home WiFi kit, the OTP goes to the device’s own inbox. Connect to its WiFi, log in to the modem dashboard with the details printed on the device, and open the SMS tab.

Problem 2: The OTP is rejected

The OTP expires five minutes after it is sent. If you switched apps, took photos of your ID first, or waited too long, request a new code and enter it right away. Only the newest OTP works.

Problem 3: “The details you entered and the ID did not match”

This message means the form and your ID disagree. Common causes:

  • A middle name typed in full on the form but shown as an initial on the ID, or the other way around.
  • A missing suffix such as Jr. or III.
  • A birthday entered in the wrong order.
  • A married name used on the form while the ID still shows another surname.

Copy every field exactly as printed on the ID you upload. If you have several IDs, use the one whose details are most up to date. If the error continues, contact Globe.

Problem 4: Your ID is not accepted

Globe’s help page gives specific advice about IDs:

  • PVC cards are recommended to avoid delays.
  • Paper IDs, or IDs with a printed photo, may not be accepted.
  • For PRC, Postal and SSS IDs, use the previous version. Globe says the newest versions are not yet accepted and an update is in progress.
  • The ID must be valid and not expired.

For the photo itself, lay the ID flat in daylight, keep all four corners in the frame and avoid glare. Globe’s Globe At Home instructions set a 4 MB limit on images, so if the upload fails, lower your camera resolution or take a screenshot of the photo. The full list of accepted IDs is in our main guide.

Problem 5: The selfie fails

Globe does not publish detailed selfie rules, so these are practical tips that solve most failed selfies:

  • Face a window or a light source, not a bright background.
  • Remove sunglasses, caps and face masks.
  • Hold the phone at eye level, with your whole face inside the frame.
  • Turn off beauty filters and portrait effects.

Problem 6: “Number already registered”

If the portal says a number is already registered and you did not register it, or you need to change who it is registered to, Globe asks you to contact it through Globe Telecom on Facebook Messenger or visit a Globe Store. Globe Business Prepaid users can call (02) 7730-1288.

Problem 7: You cannot open the registration link

Globe’s advice is to double-check the URL and your internet connection. Switch between WiFi and mobile data, and type the address yourself instead of tapping a link from a text message. If the problem continues, contact Globe on Facebook Messenger. Globe Business Prepaid users can call (02) 7917-2888.

Problem 8: No confirmation after submitting

Globe sends prepaid users a confirmation text and shows a reference number on screen after a successful registration. If you did not get either, check your status on the portal. Our guide to checking your Globe SIM registration status explains how.

Problem 9: Registered, but the SIM still does not work

Restart the phone first so it reconnects to the network. If calls, texts or data still do not work, Globe asks you to contact it through Facebook Messenger or a Globe Store. If only mobile data fails, check your Globe APN settings. Remember that registration does not stop a prepaid SIM from expiring; keep it loaded.

Frequently asked questions

How many times can I request an OTP?

Globe does not publish a limit. If several requests fail, wait a while and check your signal before trying again.

Can I register using someone else’s phone?

The OTP goes to the SIM being registered, so that SIM must be in the phone you use. You can open the website on any device as long as you can read the OTP.

Does a failed attempt cost load?

No. Globe says its online registration is free and zero-rated.
